Malcolm Kirkpatrick

"In a socialist system, it is quite possible that the taxpayer would receive a magnificent standard of living provided by the state, which would turn the assumption on its head."

Are you serious? Does this refer to this planet or some hypothetically possible universe, where citizens and State agents are wise altruists and remote authorities know the tastes and shoe sizes of people they have never met?

If you intend "this planet", what extant "socialist" State suggests this pollibility?

According to Charles Murray (Losing Ground), the work disincentive effects of the Seattle Income Maintenance Experiment and the Denver Income Maintenance Experiment (SIME/DIME) were statistically significant and strong.
