Citizens for Tax Justice has a good collection of analyses related to campaign tax notes, at the August 12 post on "Cutting through the tax rhetoric clutter." As I've noted in prior "campaign tax talks" postings, the McCain campaign has been playing fast and loose with facts in its anti-Obama ads, saying Obama voted for a tax increase on families making $42,000, when in fact the vote it notes is on a budget bill (a long way from a tax bill) and would only have resulted in a tax increase, if the provision had been enacted as initially drafted, for families making about $90,000 (ie, DOUBLE what the McCain ad said). More on the specifics at the CTJ posting, but you will enjoy this graph from the Urban/Brookings folks (also posted at CTJ).
