There is an interesting update on the story about the Chicago property-tax-saving "minister" who purportedly converted a portion of his $3 million home into a church saving thereby about $80,000 a year in property taxes. Turns out the "minister" lost a nasty sexual harassment suit by one of his bank's employees. Farfaras v. Citizens Bank & Trust Co., 433 F.3d 558 (7th Cir. 2006). Read all about it on Tax Prof, with a link to the breaking story in the Chicago Tribune.
