Richard Wilkinson is the co-author with Pickett of "The Spirit Level", a book that looks at the insidious effects of inequality on society in general, with comparative charts on physical health, life expectancy, mental health, teenage pregnancy and many other indicators of societal quality of life to conclude that inequality is a terrible drain on societal and individual well-being. Wilkinson is available here in a video presentation on many of the ideas from the book, including some of the wonderful tables that demonstrate just how far off the norm is the US inequality and the harmful effects that has on the majority of US citizens.
