Trump has a base of supporters that seem to think he really cares about them and will work on their behalf. Those beliefs are not based in credible evidence. Let's examine.
Trump claims that he will create jobs and save the economy. In fact, most of the tax and spend policies that he advocates are the same, old trickle-down approaches that have failed for forty years. Tax breaks for the rich and more hardship for the middle and lower income taxpayers. Just look at Kansas, which was supposed to be the 'experiment' that proved that trickle down created jobs and made the economy grow. Instead, Kansas is facing very difficult times, with the predictable loss of tax revenues from tax breaks for the rich causing headaches and heartaches throughout the state. Trickle down doesn't work and never has. Trump will not save the economy--he's much more likely to thrust us back into another deep recession, which always hits those in the middle and lower classes who have less savings and less cushion when there are job losses.
Trump claims he "knows more than the generals" about fighting ISIS and will handle foreign affairs better than Democrats. But he has no experience whatsoever. He is apparently attracted to authoritarianism, and will likely be charmed by Putin and will create hostility in every case where he tries to bully his way in international affairs. His ego and narcissistic temperament is a poor match for the requirements of the Presidency--he wants the attention always on him, and it doesn't matter really whether it is good or bad. That kind of viewpoint leads to warmongering, not peace or stability.
Trump is essentially uneducated. He was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, got millions from his dad to start his own way in business, and then bullied and cheated his way to millions.
Trump lies more than he tells the truth. He lies about his charity because he wants admiration without the work. He lies about his "sacrifices" because he wants to be seen as deserving praise even though he has never sacrificed any wish of his own to be considerate of others. (Remember his claim that "making millions" was as big a sacrifice as losing a son in Iraq?)
Trump doesn't want anyone to know the truth about himself. He hasn't released his tax returns, probably because he has pushed aggressive tax shelter claims to and beyond the limit. What we know about his returns because of his bankruptcies and court cases reveal that he is no paragon of virtue and that he has likely taken positions that wouldn't hold up in court if the IRS were not so underfunded and under harassment from the alt-right (that supports Trump) that it doesn't have the ability to follow up on anything but the most obvious and most egregious problems.
Trump is a sexual predator and brags about it. American Media, Inc. bought off a woman who claimed she had been sexually harassed by Trump a decade ago, for $150,000, so that they could keep the story from getting out (and assist Trump's electoral chances). Trump has publicly stated, with a microphone attached, that he grabs women by the genitals and gets away with it because he's a "star". He has bragged about barging into teenage girls' dressing rooms when they are naked, on the grounds that he could get away with it as the owner of the contest. He has probably sexually assaulted at least a dozen women over the years.
Trump and his father discriminated against blacks in housing. He has treated his own black supporters with disdain and prejudice. He has curried violence the way most politicians curry mother's love of their infants. He has made vague threats that he would jail political opponents or, better still in his view, that his supporters should use their "second amendment rights" to do her in.
Trump has denigrated the American democratic process with those threats, and with his comments about the inner city, the economy and everything else. He doesn't appreciate or understand the Constitution that he would be sworn to defend as President. He doesn't appreciate or understand that "political correctness" is just a term to label the courtesy that we owe one another as human beings.
Trump's bullying and cozying up to the white supremacist movement go hand in hand. He has made hate okay. He has made white male offensive treatment of women okay. He has helped bring white supremacism and the KKK back into our daily lives. He has vilified the very human characteristics of mercy, humility, humbleness, courtesy, respect that make this nation great.
Trump will not make American great again. Trump would try to take us back to the nation that allowed white men to make all decisions, put women in the kitchen and left children to idolize a misbehavin' father just because he was wealthy.
We don't need Trump. He would ruin the country. We need Clinton.
Vote. Against Trump. Vote. For Clinton and Democrats in the Senate.
